  • To install the blocking for the new sink they screwed through the face of the cabinet, leaving the screw head exposed. After speaking with the salesman they immediately took responsibility for the mistake and sent someone the next day to counter sink the screw and patch the cabinet. The patch wasn’t an issue because we had repainted the cabinets previously. Would have been a much larger issue with these were unpainted. Overall the counter top itself was a great installation. They recommended a great solution to the behind the sink that other contractors did not.

  • Very quick to reply to inquiry. Granite installers were quick but left the kitchen area with a film of granite dust on all of the cabinets and appliances. The seam in the granite is very noticeable, not too happy with this. There were no phone calls or emails confirming install dates or times. I had to call Merrifield to verify when the workers would show the next day. First plumber could not connect the gas stove top so we had to wait until late the following day for another plumber to connect. All workers were respectful and courteous.

  • Had a great experience working with Munkh. Project was on time, handled very professionally right from sending a quote to installing the counter to providing product care and warranty. We love our new counters and would definitely recommend hiring them.

  • Anga was on time on the initial appointment, something that always impresses me. He listened to what we wanted to accomplish and made several helpful suggestions. His quote was the only one we got that was professionally submitted electronically. He had dozens of samples he directed us to a warehouse to select a slab. He took it from there! The Installers showed up on time. The stone looked fantastic! They moved cabinets around, installed a dishwasher and cleaned up afterwards. We are extremely happy in all respects We would hire them again without any reservations

quartz countertops

Engineered stone countertops are often known as quartz countertops. This is because of the fact that they are composed of 90 percent natural stone particles (generally quartz) along with about 10 percent artificial ingredients (like resins, coloring, glues etc.). The ground-up quartz crystals and Theresins are combined with ground up quartz crystals under high pressure and heat and then they are cooled and polished to a matte or glossy finish. Unlike surfaces granite and marble, the quartz countertops are devoid of any natural imperfections and this is a great advantage of using them. Moreover, they can be produced in awide gamut of patterns and colors. But the disadvantage associated with them is that they lack the elegance and sophistication of stone surfaces and may look artificial to some. On the other hand, some believe that the slight disadvantagecan be overlooked because quartz countertops don't need regular resealing like granite countertops and are also nonporous. Because these countertops made of Quartz resemble stone, yet don't need the periodic maintenance, is rather positive about them. Some other advantages of quartz countertops include that they are resistant to stains and scratches, and that they are made using one of the hardest materials on earth. However, quartz countertops are as hard to cut and as heavy as granite is which means that they require professional installation. Some popular brands include Silestone, Dupont Zodiaq, Casesar Stone and Cambria.
